Unimars (Universal Marine Service) was established in August 1994. At present, Unimars Group is a multi-business holding and its companies specialize in providing ship-owners with the full spectrum of services within marine business. More than 250 people are working for holding companies around Baltic States with the headquarters in Riga.

Ship management

In 2003 Unimars purchased the m/v”Presto”, operated it for about 6 months and sold it afterwards. During this time the company gained the first experience in operation and management of the vessels and started to develop a structure of shipping department.
In period of 2004-2007 the company purchased 14 vessels, gradually building up a structure of ship management and maintenance – commercial department, technical management department. Afterwards those departments were transformed into individual affiliated companies – Uniship, which carries out technical management and Unimars Shipping Company, which carries out commercial management. Today shipping department of Unimars Group holding is a command of highly qualified specialists, who are carrying out full marine management : commercial operations, financial and technical management, «ISM»  and crewing.
 
Today Unimars Shipping Company is well known on the European and Baltic marine market as reliable provider of full ship management, and also as international short sea cargo carrier and operator of owned and chartered tonnage and also as chartering ship broker, sale and purchase broker, consulting services provider in the field of sea carriage and maritime transport.

Ship supply and service

A group of Unimars companies under Unimars Ship Supply &Service control is carrying out a complex maintenance of ships, which call at the Baltic Sea ports located in Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Russia. Unimars Ship Supply &Service is the only (unique) company which can individually and efficiently solve any urgent issues and inquiries, from A to izzard, which ship-owners might raise in the Baltics. Our representative offices operate in Riga (headquarters), Ventspils, Liepaja, Klaipeda, Tallinn, St. Petersburg and Kaliningrad. In addition, using own logistic infrastructure, supply may be carried out in ports of Sweden, Finland and Poland as well.
 
Today Unimars Ship Supply offers the following:
-          Ship supply :technical; provisions; bonds; catering services.
-          a package of services related to the delivery of navigational charts and
publications, incl. correction and tracking collections;
-          checking and examination of survival equipment;
-          maintenance, designing and installation of radio navigational equipment;
-          various types of ship repairs.
In 2001 the company received the ISO 9001:2000 Quality Certificate.
Unimars Ship Supply & Service companies are all members of the
following  Associations:
ISSA (International Ship Suppliers Association), O.C.E.A.N. (European association of ship suppliers), LSSA (Association of Latvian Ship Suppliers), NALSA (National Association of
Latvian Sea Brokers and Agents).
Today approximately 100 employees are working in Unimars Ship Supply & Service.
 
Related companies

These are companies, related to marine business, operating individually, but Unimars Group holding takes part in forming common policy and strategy of companies. The following companies belong to this department :
1. Unimars Electronic Group authorized FURUNO DANMARK AS distributor, specializing on repairs, installation and maintenance of electronic navigational equipment.
2. CHACALLI BALTIC supplier of duty-free and tax-free and luxury products to the diplomatic community


Asset management companies
 
Companies Uniservice, Unimarine and Unibowlings belong to the  department of Unimars Group Holding’s asset management and carry out holding’s asset management, among which are Unimars maritime centre and maritime business centre Unimarine.
In order to develope ship supply business and perfect range of services provided, in 2002 we decided to establish the Maritime Centre „Unimars”. Actually, it is multifunctional complex, having no analogues in Europe. In this building are situated:
- infrastructure of the Unimars Ship Supply &Service (a modern logistic facility with a warehouse,  a station for checking survival equipment, numerous offices of both Unimars Holding, and the affiliated companies)
- a ‘recreation centre’, which is actually a Seamen’s Club, including a hotel,restaurant and bowling.
Having acquired invaluable experience in managing the Maritime Centre “Unimars”, the Holding completed the construction project of the A class maritime business centre with a total area of 8.000 sq.m. This building, which is located next to the Maritime centre “Unimars”, are situated Unimars Group Holding companies along with many other independent companies, offering marine services.
